Min son (4 år) besöker webbsidan spel.se. Jag har reagerat på att han är oerhört orienterad av spelens tematik, dramatik och design snarare än dess strategi. Ett spel kan om man önskar delas upp i dess strategiska och dramaturgiska delar. Spelet schack har en uppsättning regler (strategi) men det kan ha olika tematik (dramaturgi) exempelvis bönder och kungar, Starwars, Riddartema, Träskmonstertema och så vidare.
Det som har med monstertruckar att göra är intresserar min son just nu medan det som är motorcyklar inte är intressant. Det är exakt samma spel i grunden (samma strategi och teknologi). Ett spel med rätt tematik och design är intressant medan ett spel med fel klickas bort på mindre än en minut.
Det är även primärt i de tematiska/dramaturgiska delarna som affärer i leken (spelet) görs i de spel som min son just nu är intresserad av. Spelen är gratis men det är avgiftsbelagt att ändra i designen. Det kan handla om att det går att köpa andra jul till bilen eller tuffare kläder till figuren. Sedan är det ju så att det är inte enbart de dramaturgiska delarna som går att ändra genom köp utan även de strategiska. Att köpa ett par större hjul till sin bil betyder inte enbart att bilen ser snyggare ut den kan i spelet även få andra egenskaper till exempel åka snabbare.

Jag har ingen intension överhuvudtaget att moralisera över olika affärsmodeller och kommer inte att göra det. Min drivkraft är ta reda på hur mötet mellan affärer och barn/ungdomar ser ut. Jag har ett personligt behov av att förstå detta då mina barn växer upp med nätet. Det är en viktig del i att förstå samtiden.
Det är dock svårt att se bort från genusaspekten och att det är så oerhört uppdelat i tematik, målgrupp pojkar&flickor. Under rubriken tjejer/tjespel samlas titlar som Sagolik kyss, Scrub & peel-makeover, Bada bebis etc. Detta kräver särskilt uppmärksamhet och fokus.
